Who doesn't enjoy Winter? Although the temperature drops drastically in many cities and countries, the warmth from families, friends, and of course the fireplace keep uswell defended against the chill. Now I ask again, who doesn't enjoy Winter? Especially when it comes early. Winter officially begins December 21 (for those who are not aware yet). Now despite what the calendar reads, I would like to officially annouce it be Winter already. Yes, winter even before Thanksgiving! How is this possible?

For those of you who tune in to Soft Rock 98.9 (Dinuba/Fresno) Christmas songs have been playing (to my knowledge) all day so far. Now I know that radio stations do not posess the ability to declare the next season but I certainly would have to agree with them. As quoted from the popular hit "Let it Snow" as written in 1945, "The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful..." is exactly what it is like this chilly afternoon. Perhaps it isn't as cold where others live (you'll have to forgive me for not checking the weather all around the world) but maybe another possibility is that today is the first glimpse of the long winter ahead of us.

I only wish I had a mug of hot chocolate next to me and the fireplace running. Waiting for the official "burn days" certainly is a pain when it's "frightfully" cold outside and even colder inside. But the law is the law so a mug of orange juice and a blanket will have to make up for my heart's winter desires. To those who are stressing the results of your education thus so far, I suggest finding a nice, quiet and warm cafe to study and let yourself unwind. To those counting down the minutes until you can clock out from work, go out and buy some hot chocolate mix on your way home and wrap yourselve up with the radio on and relax.

We mustn't forget the simple things in life as the holidays approach us for we can all get lost in the rush of holiday shopping. Just remember to take a few moments out of each day to enjoy what life has so graciously presented to us. I wish you all the happiest of holidays and to keep your eye out for the coming of Winter.
